A blood donation is usually completed after about a quarter of an hour. What plays a more important role here is the time factor needed to bring collapsing patients into shock. An unconscious patient who cannot change his sitting or arm positions must be quickly brought into the shock position.
For this reason, faster shock position adjustment using a gas pressure spring is preferred over electric motor adjustment.
On the blood donation chair from AGA Sanitätsartikel, the adjustment of the entire upholstered frame, including the two armrests fixed with fastening clamps, is carried out using a gas pressure spring triggered via a foot lever located under the leg section on the floor frame and easily accessible from three sides.
Dialysis is a very time-consuming type of blood purification. It usually lasts several hours. The padding of the dialysis chair is therefore designed to be more comfortable. The electric motor for tilt adjustment can be controlled using the hand switch. During dialysis, the patients can select and change their lying/sitting position using the hand switch, even into the shock position. They do not need to correct their sitting or arm positions, as the two armrests are fixed to the upholstery frame with fastening clamps and, like the blood donation chair above, are moved automatically.
To prevent calf muscle cramps, the dialysis lounge chair comes with a relaxation footrest, which can be adjusted by grid to the patient's height or leg length. The patients can brace their feet against it if necessary.
